Dan started his resort career after graduating from college with a degree in Park Management and Business. He worked for a resort company for 14 years that had 50 resorts across the country. Working at six different resorts over those years, he served as a district manager up until buying his own resort. In 1998, he and his wife purchased Lakecrest Resort in Detroit Lakes, MN and for 18 years owned and operated the resort. In 2016, after 30 plus years managing and owning resorts he decided to sell the resort and pursue other interests. During those 18 years of owning Lakecrest, Dan was very involved with the Detroit Lakes Chamber, serving on the Chamber Board and the tourism committee for several years and is a past Board President. Dan continues to be involved with the Minnesota Resort and Campground Association, serving on the board and as past president. He has also served on the church council and other church committees and is a member of the Detroit Lakes Rotary Club.

Dan has been married to his wife for 31 years and has 3 adult children. Dan joined Orion Resort Sales in 2016 to help connect people who dream of owning a resort and to carry on the tradition of resorting in MN.
